European Environment and Health Ministerial Board (EHMB) 2010-2017

EHMB was established at the Fifth Ministerial Conference on Environment and Health in 2010 to be the political face and driving force of international environment and health policies for implementing commitments in the WHO European Region.

It comprised 4 representatives of intergovernmental organizations and 8 ministers. The WHO Regional Committee for Europe appointed ministers for the health sector, and the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) Committee on Environmental Policy appointed ministers for the environment sector. Its composition ensured geographic representation of all parts of the Region, and equal representation of the health and environment sectors.

Throughout its work in 2010–2017, EHMB was chaired by Armenia, Azerbaijan, Croatia, France, Israel, Lithuania, Romania, Serbia, Slovenia and Spain.

EHMB met 7 times in this period. Its deliberations helped to shape the environment and health agenda leading up to the Sixth Ministerial Conference on Environment and Health in 2017.
