The health system response to violence against women in the WHO European Region: a baseline assessment (2019)

This report provides a baseline assessment of how violence against women is addressed in national health systems in the WHO European Region, in line with commitments made by Member States of the WHO European Region in the Global plan of action to strengthen the role of the health system within a national multisectoral response to address interpersonal violence, in particular against women and girls, and against children and the Strategy on women’s health and well-being in the WHO European Region.

The report analyses quantitative findings from a survey carried out among WHO European Region Member States in 2018 and qualitative findings from the content analyses of documents that were either supplied by Member States who took part in the survey or identified by WHO staff.
