National policies, plans and legislation
National laws to implement the International Health Regulations (IHR) (2005) across the prevention, preparedness, surveillance and alert, and response phases were mapped in Georgia, Kyrgyzstan, Serbia and Switzerland in a pilot project on legal epidemiology conducted by WHO/Europe and partners.
Six countries in the WHO European Region are in the process of developing their national action plans for health security (NAPHS). They have conducted orientation and costing workshops bringing together key stakeholders from the health, agriculture, veterinary, environment, interior and finance sectors.
