National surveillance systems

Public health, emergency preparedness and veterinary experts from Albania and the Republic of Moldova were trained on the use of the Epidemic Intelligence from Open Sources (EIOS) system to conduct event-based surveillance using open-source information.

Tajikistan reviewed its surveillance reporting systems for high-threat pathogens with the support of WHO/Europe. A technical working group developed case definitions and a new template for epidemiological reports.
