One Health

Health and veterinary professionals from 7 countries across the Region identified strengths, weaknesses and priority actions to improve collaboration in the area of One Health through IHR-PVS (performance of veterinary services) national bridging workshops.

Kazakhstan enhanced its capacities to prepare for and respond to public health emergencies of a zoonotic nature, including timely communication to WHO and INFOSAN, through a tabletop simulation exercise and a facilitated stakeholder discussion. Organized in August 2019, the simulation exercise tested intersectoral collaboration between the public and animal health sectors, risk communication capabilities, and response mechanisms to zoonotic diseases.
