Open online consultation – Healthcare and beyond, to end HIV, tuberculosis and viral hepatitis
A consultation survey on the first edition of the Operational Framework for Intersectoral Action to End HIV, Tuberculosis and Viral Hepatitis in Europe and Central Asia is now closed.
Collaborating with civil society organizations, other United Nations agencies and partner countries, WHO/Europe has drafted this first edition of the Framework to provide suggested concrete actions to end these diseases through collaboration beyond the health sector. Please, tell us what you think about it.
Your feedback and input will help to make this document a useful tool for those countries or organizations wishing to proactively tackle the determinants of the three diseases, integrating approaches across sectors, and helping to meet the needs of the people most affected and at risk.
We know that to end the epidemics of tuberculosis (TB), HIV and viral hepatitis, to address their root causes and to support the people affected, the health-care system alone is not enough. For example, poverty, unemployment, mental health, gender inequalities, discriminatory laws, food security and nutrition, and education are all important factors that can change the life of a person at risk or affected by these diseases.
These are some of the factors we analysed in the Framework, mirroring the approach of the interconnected Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and following up on the commitment taken with the United Nations Common Position on Ending HIV, TB and Viral Hepatitis through Intersectoral Collaboration.
If you are a patient, or part of an affected family or community, if you work on these issues or have experience inside or outside the health sector, we want to hear from you.
To end HIV, TB and viral hepatitis, we need to work together.
