Staff at the WHO Regional Office in Copenhagen have returned to their cleaned up offices, after a review of the buildings found the structure to be unaffected by recent flooding. A comprehensive back-up system and business continuity plan ensured that staff worked remotely while the buildings were inaccessible.

Preparations for the sixty-first session of the WHO Regional Committee for Europe are on track and continue without disruption.

A temporary tunnel has been built to divert flood water away from the buildings, and will be replaced by a permanent tunnel by the end of September. This will greatly reduce the likelihood of floods affecting the buildings in the future.
