This report provides an overview of implementation of the Tuberculosis Action Plan for the WHO European Region 2016–2020 based on a summary report that was reviewed and approved by the Standing Committee of the Regional Committee and subsequently submitted to the 70th session of the WHO Regional Committee for Europe in 2020, in line with resolution EUR/ RC65/R6. The report summarizes the progress and challenges and the next steps in ending tuberculosis and drug-resistant tuberculosis in the WHO European Region. It was primarily written for those responsible for tuberculosis prevention and care in Member States of the WHO European Region, including ministries of health and other government bodies responsible for health in the penitentiary, health financing, health education and social services. It summarizes the progress made, remaining challenges and next steps in ending tuberculosis and drug-resistant tuberculosis in the WHO European Region.
