Call for expressions of interest: Health System Strengthening/Tuberculosis roster of experts
The Division of Health Systems and Public Health (DSP) and the Division of Communicable Diseases, Health Security, and Environment, Joint Tuberculosis, HIV/AIDS and Hepatitis Programme (DCE-JTH) of World Health Organization Regional Office for Europe support Member States remove health system barriers and improve access to quality diagnosis, prevention, treatment and care (WHO Regional Committee for Europe Resolution EUR/RC61/R7).
In order to respond to the increased need for timely and quality assured technical assistance in the field of health system strengthening (HSS) to scale up TB and MDR-TB prevention and control, the World Health Organization Regional Office for Europe is issuing this call.
The expected technical support will be oriented towards HSS covering the 6 health system building blocks (namely stewardship, governance and management; financing; human resources for health; service delivery; pharmaceuticals and health technologies; health information) in relation to TB control. The engagement of WHO consultants would be on providing technical assistance to Member States and partners as well as development of professional capacity of new consultants in the region. For this purpose, WHO Regional Office is developing a data bank of senior and junior consultants by inviting interested individuals to solicit for enrollment in the WHO HSS/TB roster of consultants.
Interested candidates are encouraged to fill in the consultant registration form and submit it in attention to DCE-JTH TB Cluster tuberculosis@euro.who.int by COB June 19, 2015. After completing and submitting the nomination, candidates profile will be reviewed and if needed interviewed. Within one month, the candidates will receive feedback. Based on the need, WHO Regional Office for Europe will match the assignment requirements with the necessary expertise and then will contact relevant consultants.
