WHO Barcelona Office for Health Systems Financing, Spain

Established in 1999, the office is supported by the Government of the Autonomous Community of Catalonia, Spain. It is responsible for WHO’s technical support on health systems financing in Member States of the WHO European Region, and contributes to the interdivisional programme on health systems response to noncommunicable diseases.
In addition to performing analytical work at regional and country levels, the Office offers training courses on health financing for universal health coverage and health systems strengthening for improved health outcomes. Staff work directly with Member States across the Region to move towards these goals, turning WHO's core values into practical tools to help diagnose problems and develop policies tailored to a country's specific needs.
