Partners

WHO/Europe works in collaboration and coordination with WHO headquarters.

In the event of emergencies and outbreaks of foodborne disease, WHO provides country assistance and advice. Partners include the Food and Agriculture Organization of United Nations (FAO), the World Organization for Animal Health (OIE), as well as national counterparts and WHO Collaborating Centres. The Global Foodborne Infections Network (GFN) is the main partner for training on surveillance of foodborne diseases.

WHO/Europe also collaborates with and complements the work of the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) and the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC), both established by the European Commission (EC) to further strengthen and improve coordination and harmonization of national food safety services.
