Report of the 1st meeting of the European Union Physical activity focal points network

The first meeting of the network of national physical activity focal points took place in Rome, 21-22 October 2014. The meeting summarized the background and context of the establishment of the network and, through a series of keynote presentations, provided participants with up-to-date information on epidemiology, policy and practice in relation to physical activity. It also gave national focal points a first opportunity to exchange current knowledge and discuss some of the challenges associated with data collection, policy development and practice in physical activity promotion. Finally, the next steps for the network’s work plan were discussed and a roadmap for the coming months was agreed.
