The Eurohealth Observer commemorates the life and work of Dr Concepción (Concha) Colomer Revuelta, Director of the Women’s Health Observatory of the Spanish Ministry of Health, who passed away in 2011. Her life-long work and dedication not only profoundly shaped gender mainstreaming in health policy within her native Spain, but also made a significant contribution to strategies and actions at the international level through the work of WHO, both within Europe and the Americas.
