European strategy for child and adolescent health and development, gender tool

This tool was developed to accompany the existing assessment, information and action tools intended to provide support to Member States in building and developing their own policies and programmes within the framework of the strategy. It can also be used as a stand-alone document that allows policy-makers and programme staff to assess how gender sensitive their current child and adolescent health programmes and policies are. The gender tool is based on the evidence that shows how gender differences and inequality influence various aspects of illness and health among girls and boys.
