Points of entry

States Parties designated 587 ports, airports and ground crossings to the IHR (2005) in the Region in 2018. Self-assessed capacities at these designated points of entry have been made available through the online e-SPAR portal.

Public health professionals from 14 countries in the Region were trained on how to independently assess and develop IHR capacities at designated points of entry at a regional workshop held in Albania.

Coordination between health and airport authorities and enhanced preparedness efforts within the aviation sector were called for at the 7th meeting of the Collaborative Arrangement for the Prevention and Management of Public Health Events in Civil Aviation (CAPSCA), in which WHO/Europe participated.
