The journey

The Health 2020 policy framework was developed through a participatory process involving countries as well as a wide variety of other interested parties across the WHO European Region.

The content and structure were discussed at numerous events, some specifically dedicated to Health 2020 development and others where European health policy matters were explored and deliberated.

In addition, a written consultation process on a draft of Health 2020 took place in early 2012 involving countries, international organizations, the Healthy Cities Network, the Regions for Health Network, nongovernmental organizations, professional associations and other stakeholders.
